Workshops with Peter Fraser & Mark Foxwell at Genesis ImagingThis weekend workshop is designed to show you how to produce the greatest results from your files using the latest digital printing techniques and professional imaging software. The course will enable you to produce top quality Fine Art prints through a hands on approach aided with expert advice from two highly skilled tutors. The course will work from Screen Calibration, File Clean-up and Colour Management to Basic Retouching with everything in between. At the end of the two days you will print your own Pigment print up to 20” x 24” from the skills taught over the course. About Mark FoxwellBorn 1958. Lives and works in London. Mark Foxwell is currently one of the best Printers in London with over 30 years experience. Printing for the high profile clients such as Nadav Kander, Boo Ritson, Julia Fullerton-Batten, Dave Stewart and Peter Fraser. Works printed by Mark have been shown in both galleries and major museum collections that include; Museum of Modern Art, New York, The National Portrait Gallery, White Cube, Tate, Hayward Gallery as well as the Saatchi Gallery. Mark started his printing career through an Apprenticeship with Vala Studios in 1977. He began as a trainee Cibachrome printer working on images up to 72”wide with monorail enlargers. During this time he worked on prints for Norman Parkinson, Sarah Moon, Ernest Hass and many more. Before going freelance, Mark worked at the BBC in the photographic department as a Black and White and Colour printer. As developments in digital photography progressed, Mark’s techniques did too. Moving with the times Mark Foxwell has become one of the most trusted digital printers in the country and quite possibly worldwide, with clients travelling around the globe from Italy, New York, Australia, right back to Glasgow to call on him for advice and use his expertise. About Peter FraserBorn 1953. Lives and works in London. Peter Fraser is a very prominent photographer who has exhibited extensively since 1982 and published many books including Peter Fraser, Photographers’ Gallery and Nazraeli Monograph. He was shortlisted for the Citigroup Prize in 2004 alongside Joel Sternfeld, David Goldblatt and Robert Adams as well as being included in a definitive Hayward Touring exhibition, ‘No Such Thing As Society’ of British Photography between 1967-1987. This exhibition, curated by Professor David Mellor opened in the autumn of 2008 in the UK, then later travelled to Poland, Sweden, and Cardiff then resided in Newcastle at the end of October 2009. Peter Fraser was Martin Parr’s hand printer for over 25 years and spent sometime living with one of Photography’s colour pioneers, William Eggleston. He recently completed a two and a half year artist’s residency at Oxford University, resulting in work being made for the new Biochemistry building. Peter is currently working on a major new series of photographs based in London, and has been awarded a new Ffotogallery Commission to produce new work in Cardiff, Wales for an exhibition with a publication in March 2010.
