About Rhubarb Projects
Since the last International Review in July 2007, we've been working on Cultivate, our offer for third year, graduate, emerging and self taught image makers, which was a big success at its premiere venue, in partnership with the London College of Communication. We are ready to roll that out to other areas now, beginning with Nottingham Trent University, in November. And next year with the London College of Communication again, in March.
At the end of 2007, we mentored photographers through a Morning After course with Creative Alliance - which ended also in the Cultivate review, with the participants showing their folios to the experts. They are showing this year as part of the associated exhibitions at the International Review - see Convergence, by 'Ten'.
In January, Platform 1 - the winners of the ACE funded West Midlands bursaries to visit the 2007 Portfolio Event, had a show at Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford, which has had 14,000 visitors over ten weeks, and a great amount of praise.
We're deep in our own project just now, on how to expand the company and do more of what we do best - building the confidence of photographers and developing their potential to have a future in the ever changing image world.
