Rhubarb Wins World Premiere of 'Obama's People'

This extraordinary series of portraits by Nadav Kander were commissioned by Kathy Ryan, Picture Editor of the New York Times Magazine. Existing only as a slideshow on the NYT website, Rhubarb won the right to host them first and the show opens on 18 April until 30th August 2009 at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

This tinely adventure has encompassed huge financial and practical issues, including an overdraft based on promisory notes, meetings with an extraodinary group of people who have worked to enable this project to be realised, and the most energetic and playful karma.

You can now go to hear Nadav speaking about his work - see all information on the new project website - www.obamaspeopleexhibition. com But more, come and see the show, which fuses influences such as August Sander with technologies which render the subjects facade like, ironed flat.
